Dear Friend,
My hiking buddy Steve Levy and myself have been making yearly pilgrimages into the mountains together during most Septembers for over 30 years. Our first one to Alaska lasted 4 weeks. Our last one in Idaho (featured in this slide show announcement) lasted 2 weeks. We may be slowing down a bit, but are still going strong.
On these trips Steve does all of the planning and most of the talking (as you'll see when you come to the event). I tag along to carry half the weight, report Steve missing if he falls off a cliff, and feast my soul on endless incredible beauty in the presence of a wonderful friend and skilled wilderness navigator. We have this standing joke whenever we stop at a view point to soak it all in. One of us may say, "Isn't this the most incredibly beautiful, etc, etc, etc, view we've ever seen?" We always agree that this is so.
This Saturday night is Halloween. Exactly two weeks later is Steve's slide show. Please mark your calendar. Bring a snack or beverage if you can, and something for the Oregon Food Bank. I would love to see you at the Meeting House to share in our mountain adventures.
